SOLIFE'S HISTORY

Society for Life Changers and Good Parental Care {SoLife} is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization and women led organization working on human right, health, children, women and youth development. Our organization was established as a respond to the community needs for the control and prevention of diseases, human right issues, adolescent sexual and reproductive, child morbidity and mortality, women and girl economic empowerment and women participation in governance. The success of the organization has been on the increase and depended on emerging needs of the communities where it works. Its activities are not only community driven but community ownership is weaved into the design of every community project from the outset; hence sustainability is ensured. Critical aspect of our strategic vision is that, every programme has social inclusion of women and girl groups and the incorporation of persons from these groups in public offices.

In the execution of projects, SoLife abides by gender and general human rights; this motivates beneficiaries to imbibe the spirit of safe environmental practices. This organization has also contributed greatly to the development and promotion of positive values in Nigeria. SoLife has also works to strengthen the capacity of CSOs/NGOs in effective engagement with the government and the general public on the issue that affect the women and girls . Society for Life Changers and Good Parental Care has expertise in conducting Capacity Building, Advocacy and Lobbying, PMTCT Social mobilization, Community Surveys, Operational Research (Baseline Survey), Strategy Review and Development, Human Resources Development, NGO Governance, Technical Backstopping, Management Systems, Institutional Review and Analysis, Project Supervision and Monitoring, Report writing , Project Design and Final Evaluation . The Organization also conducts research into several areas in developmental issues and has highly qualified and experienced staff in SPSS and DHIS1.4, Epi Data, Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.), PITT, and STATA. SoLife has conducted various capacity building for Non-Governmental Organization, Community based Organization, Faith based Organization and other Non-state Actor at various levels. SoLife has a funding history that ranged from $2,010 in 2009 to thousands ($689,345.25) US Dollar project in recent years. The organization has received funding from government agencies, national and international funding organizations such as fhi360, SFH, The Girl Generation, USAID, UNICEF, MSH, CRS, AWDF, NAPEP, ARFH, Global Fund ACOMIN, PACT, STAI, Embassy of the United States of America , PEPFAR. Vitamin Angels, Action Against Armed Violence, Health Communication Capacity Collaboration, state Governments etc. European Union (EU) under increasing Non State Actors Implementation and Development Expertise project, PACT and Management sciences for Health (MSH) and Management Strategies for Africa (MSA) has been supporting the institutional development of the organization for 5 years and their support contributed immensely to building the management systems and development component of our work. SoLife have delivered based on scope of work for these organizations and according to their specifications. SoLife is aware of the sensitive cultural and gender values of communities where it work .

SoLife operational headquarter is located in Osogbo, the Osun State capital while, state offices are located Kwara, Abia, Benue, , Oyo and Akwa Ibom states while, our programmes cover five geo-political zones of the country (South-West, South-South ,North-Central, North west and North East). The offices are well computerized with internet access. Other facilities in each of the branch offices include Hand-Washing point, HTC center, and Youth center with recreational facilities and project vehicles SoLife has 14 full staffs with 21 volunteers.
